About Me
My roots are planted in Abernathy, Texas your typical small town. I was very involved in everything my school offered, from sports to stock showing. I am currently a sophomore at Tarleton State University, working my way through to receive a degree an International Business. However, my heart has always been set overseas. Which is why my trip to Ethiopia was such a blessing to me. In the future I would like to do something along the same lines as our trip like distributing LifeStraws.
About the Trip
During my short stay in Ethiopia I had the opportunity to make a difference in the world I have been dying to make since the day I got into high school. Each day we would drive to a free clinic in town held by Jewish Voice Ministries International. At the clinic people from miles around would come to get their eyes, teeth, or body checked. We had a tent to present about water quality, and what to do to better their health. After we would answer questions and hand each person an individual LifeStraw. There was also a Family LifeStraw 2.0 we distributed to families chosen by the local pastor that Jewish Voice Ministries worked with personally. He also gave us the opportunity to go to a family’s home and explain to them how the Family LifeStraw 2.0 work, and gave them the option to work hands on with the LifeStraw. This trip was personally a blessing for me, and if I were to every have the opportunity to go again I would not even hesitate to say yes.
